Prospective Participants: “The goal and purpose of the program is to raise the standard of ballroom dance instruction and offer anyone with the dream of becoming a teacher the opportunity to be trained thoroughly with all the tools necessary to succeed,” says Ballroom Dance Teachers College Founder and Director Diane Jarmelow. “Trainees from all walks of life, ages, backgrounds, careers, body types, etc., attend our program.” No previous experience needed.
Program Class and Location: The classes are held on Saturdays from 10:00am to 2:00pm on-site at American Dancesport Center, 23076 Sandalfoot Plaza Dr., Boca Raton, FL 33428
Program Length: There are 17 DVIDA dances in the DVIDA American dance syllabus. The program teaches two (2) dances at a time and takes 8 weeks (32 hours) to complete. All dance styles are taught from Beginner Bronze through Full Bronze levels.
Program Cost: The cost is $500 a month or $1,000 for each two dances. The program group cost makes it much less expensive than learning through private lessons. The only additional costs are for ballroom dance shoes and DVIDA syllabus manuals.
Additional Benefits: Enrolled students are welcome and encouraged to come to student practice parties and scheduled group classes for additional learning and practice time and to use the ADC studio for personal practice time.
Accreditation received: Trainees that successfully complete each dance earn a certificate of completion. Professional certification is also available through member organizations and examiners of the National Dance Council of America / DVIDA. Using this teacher training program, along with personal syllabus study and practice, prepares students for the certification exams at the Bronze level.
